Why hello there! I'm Stu Mac and this is going to be my blog about my journey playing, losing, winning and most importantly learning the game of MESBG at a sort of okayish tournament level with the goal of becoming a better player, and keeping a place to record my musings on the matter.
So this Blog will mainly be a place where I will talk about lists I am taking to events, breaking down why I want to try them and then giving a hopefully entertaining account of their performance at the tournaments I attend. With a large focus on what I have learned, and what information have I gleaned for the next tourney.
I started my MESBG journey in the summer of 2023, picked up some Army of Thror and managed to win about as many as I lost. A great start! And while D7 with fight 4 was great it fell a bit... short. So how about high defence with F5, and still good if not better courage? Ability to take cav? Half decent shooting? AND a super powerful hero who can actually reliably kill two models a turn? Rivendell Minas Tirith it was!
After about 4 months I managed to bag a few podiums at some GBHL 90s and got just outside of the top 10 at a GBHL 100, ending 38th in the 2023 league. Another great start, and truly blowing my expectations out of the water, and yet, we are hoping to do a little better in the years to come!
And if that journey and me rambling about it is of any interest well that's why this blog is here (it's also because writing it all down will hopefully commit my mistakes better to memory but that's by the by).

The years teach much, the games never do
